A 7×7 coal mine where every spin starts with only the middle 3×3 open (27 ways, up to 823 543 with the whole mine open); ways pay from the leftmost open reel, and the fewer reels are open the more they pay. Cave-ins follow every win, and Grumble Bomb wilds explode with each one, clear their neighbours, add +1 to the spin’s multiplier and push the coal walls out, while 1 or 2 lamps left on a spin without a win blow up the same way. 3 lamps start the Deep Shift on a 3×3, 4×3 or 5×3 lit area as Mouse Shift (8 to 12 spins) or Rat Shift (3 spins, back to 3 on every coal cart): the lamps carry values, a row of coal carts, amethyst shards, black powder, sacks, chests, rats and Old Grumm above them fires on the lamps below, and opened wall and floor stashes pay every spin; the max win is 70 000×.
